His maternal grandparents were Thomas ATKINSON and Ann MARTIN. He had three brothers and five sisters, named Albert, Edmund, Bonomi, Julia, Leonora, Emily , Fanny and Isabella Dorothea. He was the second youngest of the nine children.-
